WHAT IS MODEL'FEST?
MODEL'FEST is a collection of the hottest models in Second Life gathering during the month of May 2008 at JCNY Collection on Farrah Island. MODEL'FEST Runway is located at the JCNY Collection Flagship Store and will be open for public viewing during this 30 Day Event. Showcase Models will be selected to take the runway at JCNY each week of the contest.

SHOWCASE MODELS
After entering your photos you wil be up for 'Showcase Modeling' during the month. A Collection of 20 models are up for showcase during each week of the contest. These models are hand selected by the judges to take the runway at the JCNY Flagship Store. SL Newspapers, Fashion Photographers, Model Agencies will all be randomly present to view the showcase models. If you are selected as a showcase model you will receive a group tag from JD Hansen of JCNY. You will be paid 15L an hr for being part of the showcase during the festival. The models who are showcased are considered to be the featured models of the current weeks entries and are not in any specific order of placement in the runnings. As a showcase model for MODEL'FEST its completly up to you to participate in the runway invite.

Watch your Manners!
There will be no voting for the models present. Showcase models will be presented as ambassadors of modeling and fashion in SL. Please do not engage in any foul language or argumentative public chat. You are expected to be on stage with a sense of class and style. Anyone acting in an unkind manner on stage wil be kindly asked to leave MODEL'FEST Runway. Showcase models are here for your viewing pleasure and soley for fashion modeling. Please chat with respect and kindness.

HISTORY
JCNY Collection hosts the largest and longest running model search in Second Life. We've entered fashion shows across SL since 2006. Over 75 stores gridwide, and partnered in the newest KaDeWe 100th Anniversary Store. The search was developed by JD Hansen to promote fashion involvement among avatars and aspiring models. There is no cost to enter the contest
and is completely free of charge to anyone interested. This month we are returning to the original model judge and jury. This process is a person by person judging process. A panel of five judges composed of top designers in second life will judge model photo submissions.

THE CONTEST RULES FOR MODEL PORTFOLIO SUBMISSION:

Please follow these instructions carefully. Your submission will be trashed if not done correctly.

We require all entries to the exact details as follows:

1. OPEN THE SEARCH TAB: Click groups, Type JCNY Collection. Join the Group.
You must be in the JCNY Collection group to be elligable! Profiles will be checked.
MUST BE IN THE JCNY COLLECTION GROUP TO ENTER MODEL'FEST..

2. PORTFOLIOS must be a FOLDER with the text 'JCNY MODEL'FEST' -- 'Your Name'

3. A total of THREE of your best photos inside the FOLDER (**DO NOT put Pics inside notecards...)
Name each photo: 1- Your Name 2- Your Name, 3- Your Name
Lastly, use the JCNY Photo Studio to take a shot of yourself in front of the JCNY logo wall. This is the wall of JCNY Logos. We will accept 2 photos, plus your JCNY Logo wall shot. Use the JCNY Photo Studios at the Main Store for your logo wall photos or any other photos you need. The first photo will be a close up facial shot. The second photo will be a full body shot.
Any Photographers, or Agencys may be used for developing your style or photos.

4. A notecard detailing the creator of all clothing worn in the photos. As well as
any skins, hair, accessories and jewelry. Lastly, A Short paragraph about your
impression of JCNY and the Fashion Industry in Second Life.

*** All Photos MUST BE full permissions. This means Copy, Modify, Transfer. Any conflicts from Model Agencies or contracts, in the use of submitted photos, will be deleted from the contest.

5. Drop your Folder on JD Hansen's profile to submit. Make sure your submittal is
right the first time. Multiple submissions with different skins are accepted. Offline
entries will be auto received.

MODELING CONTEST - JULY FACE OF ZANPHORIA

Zanphoria Galleries and Studios is all about excellence and elegance. We are now putting a new face every month to that philosophy.

WINNER WILL RECEIVE:

• 1000L
• Will be the Zanphoria Ad Model for the month (and we advertise aggressively-Model name on the ads)
• One free month on the Zanphoria AdBoards (300L value)
• Will be one of the chosen paid models for 2 shows in the Gallery (usually 1 hr @ 200L per hour.)
• A photoshoot with the Zanphoria photographer; photos softly edited and enhanced; and a full perm portfolio book with the 10 best shots.

TO ENTER THE CONTEST:

1. PLEASE read the few rules below these instructions.
2. JOIN the Zanphoria Group
3. PLACE YOUR PHOTO IN THE VOTING BOARD (any photo you desire, no nudity - you may want to keep in mind that Zanphoria is about elegance. That can come through in a gown, lingerie or just the style of photo but you might want to lean toward a more elegant feel.) The board will deliver instructions on how to upload your image and note if you need it.

HOW THE WINNER WILL BE CHOSEN:

We realize that sometimes the "voting" contest can be little more than popularity contests, however it is effective and the preferred method. We also believe it shows enthusiasm to encourage your friends and associates to support your modeling by giving you their vote. But we will also use final judging. When the board closes, the top four (4) models with the most votes will be reviewed by a panel of 4 judges in the industry and a final winner will be chosen. The 4 finalists will be asked to submit a notecard with additional photos. PLEASE NOTE, it is possible that the model among those 4 with the most votes will not be judged the final winner. The voting board will determine the 4 finalists and the winner will be chosen by the judges.

A FEW LITTLE RULES
1. You may NOT include freelance information and/or rates on the voting board. You may have one photo and a notecard with general information about yourself. However, we do recommend you lease a regular Zanphoria AdBoard where you can put your photo and anything you like in the notecard. You are NOT required to lease one of the regular AdBoards to enter the contest.
2. If we discover you have paid anyone for votes, you will be disqualified.
3. Any attempts to manipulate the board will result in disqualification.

ScarlettCast @ Digital Image Deadline: Ongoing

Scarlett Niven introduces her new venture, ScarlettCast @ Digital Image.

Using her RL voice and lip syncing technology to match her spoken words, Scarlett will be utilizing snapshot slideshows and video segments from SL on the various topics listed in the introduction video and presenting it in a news-cast fashion.

With each monthly installment, Scarlett is holding a contest she calls "My Favorite Looks". Scarlett will be pick one winner per month from the submitted photos.

Contestants should submit a folder labeled - ScarlettCast/My Favorite Looks - (YOUR NAME).
Please submit only 1 photo per entry with details on what is being worn.

What do you need?

1. A great avatar
2. Join In-world group "Son!a"
3. Contact "Sonia28 Jie" to get your package (starting April 10th and not before that please)

How it works:

1. Picture 1: Each model will be given a set "necklace and earrings" for free.The model must take a 1st picture wearing this set. The picture must present not only the beauty of the model, but also bring the best in the necklace and earrings she is wearing.
2. Picture 2: Simply take another picture of yourself wearing any item of jewelry or garment from Son!a's Boutique.
   
3. Picture 3: Your Choice!
4. Very important ALL PICTURES MUST BE FULL PERM.. and each week one model will be selected "the model of the week" till the final result.
5. The picture might be adjusted in Photoshop and retouched.
6. Create a folder in your inventory and name it: Son!a contest summer model:
7. Upload the photos and name them: Son!a contest summer model: 1-2 & 3
8. Create a note card describing your look

The Violent Nightmare Fashion Show ~ May 21st at 7 PM SL

You can submit your entries from May 2nd until May 16th at 11:59 PM SL. The winners will be notified and announced on May 17th.

How to enter:

1. Take some photos of you rocking your favorite Sn@tch outfit, Philotic Energy hair, Nomine skin, and/or with your favorite Vital pose. At least one item or pose in your submission must be from *one* of these four designers. The SLURL for each store is included below. Show us how you wear it - extra points for creativity! No explicit pornography, please. We don't actually want to see yer sn@tch!

2. A minimum of postprocessing is allowed, but major photoshopping is *not* encouraged. We're looking for models that fit our theme for the show and express themselves with a unique style, not the best photoshop artists.

3. In order to take part in the search, you must have a Flickr account. You can sign up for free at www.flickr.com if you don't already have one.

4. Join the Sn@tch Flickr group and submit up to 3 photos to the group. In your description, you must include what item you are wearing or what pose you're using that is from one of the four designers. Any picture that fails to identify which item or pose they are using will be disqualified.

5. Submit your photos by 11:59 PM SL on Friday, May 16th! Seriously, this is the deadline - no sob stories!

Second life's next fresh face - Deadline: May 20th

Second life's next fresh face is hosting its 9th season in June 2008.
Auditions are being held for the 9th season and they started on April 6 and are continuing until may 20th.

This is not another doll contest, this is not another fashion marionette contest, because we believe that behind every avatar, behind every skin, there is a person. A person that is sometimes angry, that sometimes laughs, sometimes loves and sometimes cries…

So we wanna test that your avatar is not a robot! That SL is not only a bunch of 3D meshes! Can you show us that?!

Rules:

• The basic rule is that you should wear our skins in the photos. Anything else can be yours, use your imagination! Contest Central is a Subscribe-O-Matic Group so it does not take up one of your precious 25 Second Life Groups. In order to join simply visit any of the locations in the list to the left and touch the Contest Central Sign.

If you hear about any contests not listed, please send an info notecard named "Contest Central - CONTEST NAME" with the contest details to Voshie Paine or JennyH GossipGirl. Please note that we generally do not list any "pay to enter" or "pay for votes" type of contests. If you have concerns about a contest that we have listed, please let us know so we can take a look!

Announcing a Winner:
Send a notecard named "Contest Central Winner - WINNER NAME" to Voshie Paine or JennyH GossipGirl telling us about the contests you have won so we can announce it here and in the weekly listing! If you include your winning photo we'll post it on the Contest Central blog too (and don't forget to put it up on Flikr!)
